Program Information
Stonehenge Programs
Stonehenge Therapeutic Community was founded in 1971 as a long-term residential treatment program for men and women with a history of acute and chronic substance abuse. Over the years, Stonehenge has expanded to offer a broader scope of addiction treatment to service a more diverse client group. We are proud to offer the following addiciton treatment programs;
- Long-term Residential Addiction Treatment for Women (4-6 months)
- Long-term Residential Addiction Treatment for Men (4-6 months)
- Residential Methadone Treatment Program
- Out-patient Methadone Case Management Program (occurs off-site at the O.A.T.C.)
- Early Childhood Development Addictions Program for Pregnant and Parenting Women - including our “Let’s Grow Together” Day Support Program
- Family Support Group
- Correctional Programs:
- Correctional Services of Canada (CSC) – 13 residential beds for male and female federal offenders
- Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services (MCSCS) – 10 residential beds for male and female provincial offenders

Non-Residential Programs and Services
Methadone Clinic - On-site physcian and lab services available for those residents who are on methadone maintenance
Family Group - Family members and friends of residents meet once a month to learn valuable skills and gain support in coping with addiction
Aftercare - A group of former residents who meet weekly (for up to 2 years) to test their new-found skills while still connected to our program and staff and the guidance it offers.
Alumni Association - Provides Stonehenge graduates the opportunity to give back to the community through support, role-modeling and social activities. See our Alumni Association webpage.
Note on Program Rules: Violating any of following four major guidelines may result in immediate discharge from the Stonehenge treatment program.
- The use and/or possession of drugs, including alcohol, are absolutely prohibited.
- Threats or acts of violence are absolutely prohibited
- Engaging in sexual activity with other residents while in treatment is absolutely prohibited
- The use and/or possession of electronic devices (cell phones, iPods, laptops, etc) is absolutely prohibited.
